Coffee Machine Display

This project focuses on designing an intuitive and user-friendly display interface for a coffee machine. The goal was to simplify the coffee-making process, ensuring clarity, convenience, and a seamless user experience.

Problem Statement

How might we create a coffee machine display that provides clear, timely information, simplifies brewing, and ensures an intuitive user experience?

Research

  • Conducted user research to understand pain points and expectations.

  • Reviewed competitors’ products (e.g., Jura E6, Magia Super Automatic) to identify strengths and gaps in current market solutions.

Personas and User Flow

  • Developed user personas to guide the design process.

  • Mapped out user flows to ensure a logical and seamless experience from start to finish.

User Flow

Using tools like Figma, the project combines user research, wireframing, prototyping, and testing to deliver a functional and visually engaging interface.

Wireframing

  • Created low-fidelity wireframes to conceptualize the layout and functionality.

  • Iterated based on initial feedback to refine the interface.

Mood Board

Prototyping

Designed high-fidelity prototypes in Figma, incorporating motion and interaction to simulate real-world usage.

Testing and Feedback

Conducted usability testing to gather insights.

Key findings that changed:

  • Users found the hot/ice process unclear.

  • Requested additional options like macchiato.

  • Feedback highlighted the need for better navigation and return-to-home options.

The final design features

  • A clear and responsive interface with animations for user engagement.

  • Intuitive navigation to simplify the brewing process.

  • Thoughtfully placed options for customization (e.g., drink type, temperature).
