Dinosaur Lamp

The Dinosaur Lamp is a playful and functional piece of nomadic furniture, featured at the “Re: Making Do” exhibition at Secrist Beach Gallery and Silverroom.

By replacing key materials and experimenting with balance, the redesign transforms the lamp into a dynamic and whimsical piece that retains its functionality while embracing a fresh, sculptural identity.

Concept and Transformation



Original Inspiration: The Giraffe Lamp, known for its tall and elegant form, inspired a playful exploration of balance and structure.

Material Innovation: Three materials were replaced to reflect sustainability and modern aesthetics, giving the lamp a distinctive character.

Playful Balance: Adjustments to the structure shifted the focus from height to dynamic balance, allowing the lamp to mimic the motion and posture of a dinosaur.
